I went to 'The Running Shop' in Northampton to get some decent trainers. I ended up getting some Brooks running shoes because they felt bouncy. Also because they didn't have repulsive neon laces or soles like some of the other options. I also got a good sports bra and some running socks. These were all gifts from my nan for doing well at uni last term.
I haven't been eating particularly healthily since I decided to run the marathon because it's been Easter, but now I'm at uni and away from my boyfriend who is a terrible influence, I am eating a bit better. I have been on at least 1 30minute bike ride every day since I got back to Brighton, but as of yet have not been for a run as I'm not feeling my best, so needed something a bit more gentle. Cycling will help fitness anyway, and every little helps.
I also just emailed Sense, a charity for deafblind people, which is a cause that really touches me, and I really hope they will give me one of their places on the marathon so I can raise as much money as possible for them.
I'll write again after I have been for an actual run.

I'm going to run a marathon.
I am currently watching the London Marathon on T.V. and have decided that I want to run it next year. It may seem self indulgent to write a blog about it, but I am actually just writing it so there is no going back. If anyone reads this, or even if I think anyone reads this, it will help motivate me not to give up.
I am the highest weight you can be for my age and height without being classed as overweight, very unfit and a binge drinker. I am not a good runner, but when I was younger I was thin and fit and used to run cross country, so I have hope.
First things first, I need some running shoes, and will go to the shop either later today or tomorrow to buy some, and a good sports bra too. I have been doing some research online for training programs and have found one I like: http://www.marathonrookie.com/marathon-training.html. However, you can't start the program until you can run for 30 minutes non-stop, which I am no-where near. At most I can run for 10 minutes, so I have a lot of work to do before I can start training properly!
Here we go anyway, I've started.
Wish me luck!
Blogs are so cheesy.
